Many thanks to the Cincinnati Boychoir community for your continued support and cooperation as we work our way through these unexpected circumstances around COVID-19. We are discovering new ways of building community, connecting with each other, and making music through technology. We will continue to support our boys virtually through the end of our regularly scheduled season, and we look forward to coming back strong this fall.
As of today, we have cancelled all remaining in-person events for the season, including all in-person rehearsals, tours, Breakfast with the Boys scholarship breakfast, our Spring Showcase concert, closing ceremonies, May Discovery Night, the Ambassadors Tour Send Off Concert on May 31st, and the Ambassadors Texas Tour.
We are saddened by the need to cancel these events, as each event was to be special and an opportunity to celebrate the Boychoir with friends and family and the larger community. In light of the concerns for everyone's safety around COVID-19 and efforts being made for social distancing, we felt it was the only choice to keep everyone healthy and safe.
The Impact of COVID-19 on Boychoir
As you might imagine, cancellation of our remaining performances and fundraising events is hitting our organization hard. We are actively pursuing funding options to ensure that we come out on the other side strong and ready to sing in the fall, and we could use your help now more than ever.
The CARES Act, recently signed into law, includes a new $300 tax break for charitable donations. This new universal charitable giving incentive is for individuals who make a charitable contribution in 2020 of up to $300, without having to itemize on your tax return.
If you have the ability to make a donation, please consider making a gift today to support Boychoir operations through the COVID-19 pandemic. Every dollar counts.
Please reach out with any questions or concerns to katie.macdonald@cincinnatiboychoir.org or by calling 513-396-7664.
See you next season!

Previous Statement (March 19, 2020)
In a press release on March 12, Governor DeWine ordered the cancellation of gatherings with more than 100 people, and extended Spring Break for all schools from March 15 to April 3. Cincinnati Boychoir is affected by both of these orders and will be suspending all activities during this period. This includes all rehearsals, Passport to Boychoir programs, the Apprentice School Tour, and any Boychoir Games events. Additionally, the Breakfast with the Boys, originally scheduled for March 31, has been postponed. Once a new date has been identified, we will notify our families and supporters and reopen registration.
The emergence of COVID-19 has caused us, and many organization around the country, to make some importance decisions. Our top priority is always the well-being and safety of our community, and it is no different as we react to our current circumstances. On a broader level, we have to do our part to promote public health. We appreciate your flexibility and understanding as we navigate these tumultuous times.
Please understand that we recognize the uncharted territory in which we all find ourselves. We are figuring it out as we go, and situations are constantly evolving. As we receive more information, we will be able to make more concrete decisions concerning the rest of the season. We will post any updates to our social media accounts and website as they are available.
