As summer draws closer, one of the activities we’re most excited about here at the Cincinnati Boychoir is our Passport to Music summer camp, a week-long half-day camp at the Aronoff Center for the Arts downtown. This will be our second year running this camp. Last year’s camp, which focused on the music and culture of South Africa, was a great time for boys and teachers alike. We’re confident that this year’s camp will be just as exciting.
In keeping with that new curriculum, Passport to Music this year will focus on the music, culture, and traditions of the Hispanic world. Boys will learn music, dances, and stories from Spanish-speaking cultures from Ms. KellyAnn Nelson and other teachers. They will also participate in drumming activities that help them keep the beat while they have fun!
In addition, we are once again partnering with the Cincinnati Art Museum for some activities. Ms. Carrie from the Art Museum will lead the students as they create art in the styles of the Hispanic world.
The Passport to Music summer camp is open to boys entering grades 2 through 6 in the fall of 2019. It will last from June 17 to June 21 and will run every day from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. You can register for the camp right here. The cost for the week is $195. We hope your boy will join us for this joyfully musical week!
