We’re delighted to introduce our 2018–2019 season, Cuéntame, which is Spanish for “tell me your story.” We invite you to hear the magnificent, heartbreaking, and victorious stories of those who have come from afar to make their lives here in America. Each concert will feature a special focus on the music and culture of the Hispanic world and take you on a journey that will help us all answer the question: Where do I come from?
We begin with this year’s Sing Me a Story holiday concert on December 8 at the Procter & Gamble Hall. With special guests Dhani Jones and Kathy Wade, the choirs will present “The Night Before Christmas / Era la Vispera de Navidad” in an English/Spanish format. This family-friendly concert is quickly becoming an annual tradition.
Next, on February 24, we present Cincinnati Boychoir Ambassadors en Concierto. The music of the Hispanic world takes center stage as the boys sing works by Piazzolla, Escalada, and more.
We’ll conclude the season with Cuéntame tu Historia, our spring concert featuring all of the choirs, in the Jarson-Kaplan Theater on April 27 and 28. Whether your parents immigrated to America, or your ancestors were here before the first European settlers, you have a unique story that tells how you came to be here today. Lively, uplifting music will help tell the meaningful stories of families, of travel, and of the building of the pluralistic culture in which we live today.
We look forward to sharing our stories and learning yours this year. Join us!
