Update: Due to unforeseen circumstances, Laura Gentry will replace Dhani Jones as our narrator, who developed a late-hour scheduling conflict.

As the Christmas season returns, so does the Cincinnati Boychoir’s annual Sing Me a Story holiday concert! Over the years, the Sing Me a Story concert has become a beloved Cincinnati tradition that brings whole families together. Kids and parents alike enjoy hearing Christmas tales brought to life with the Boychoir’s songs.

2018-19_holiday artThis year’s story is Clement Clarke Moore’s beloved classic poem “The Night Before Christmas,” and we’re joined by special guests Dhani Jones, an entrepreneur and former quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals, and superstar vocalist Kathy Wade. Together, we will present this story and favorite holiday songs in English and Spanish.

Cincinnati boychoir bow tie designed by Dhani JonesWhile this is the first time that Mr. Jones has appeared on stage with the Cincinnati Boychoir, it isn’t the first time the two have worked together. Among Mr. Jones’s many ventures is his fashion-forward charity, BowTie Cause. This charity creates and sells high-end bowties and scarves in support of various causes and charitable organizations, ranging from the arts to education to health-related research. And it was BowTie Cause that supplied the Boychoir’s distinctive new bowties featuring the Boychoir logo and colors!

We are very excited that Mr. Jones will join us onstage and help us present this bilingual concert. It’s the first major showcase concert we’re performing in our new three-year cultural curriculum, which is focused on the Hispanic world, especially Hispanic life in the twenty-first century United States. This approach to music guides Boychoir singers to explore new cultures through music and encourages conversations about how cultures interact and how the arts both ignite and reflect change.

Join us for the Sing Me a Story concert on December 8 at the Aronoff Center for the Arts. Tickets are available for purchase online.
