SongFest
SongFest offers a unique and rewarding musical experience for boys entering grades 3-6.
This year, our summer camp will be held in conjunction with the World Choir Games! We’re thrilled that all boys who take part in SongFest will be carrying each participating country’s flag in both the opening & the closing ceremonies. This will truly be the Olympics of Choir, and we’re thrilled that the Cincinnati Boychoir SongFest participants will be the first choir members that all 20,000 international singers and audience members see in US Bank Arena at the start of the Games. SongFest will also include choral rehearsals, music classes, games, recreation, an included college cafeteria lunch, even a daily African drum circle – all on Xavier University’s beautiful campus! Who: Boys entering 3-6 grades who love to sing. Boys entering the 7th or 8th grades already enrolled in the Boychoir are invited to attend. All Boychoir members who plan to sing in the 2012-2013 season are expected to attend.
When:
Monday July 2: 9am-5pm classes (lunch included)
Tuesday July 3: 9am – 5pm classes, evening WCG Opening Ceremony Rehearsal (lunch, dinner, WCG transportation included)
Wednesday July 4: 9am – 5pm classes, evening WCG Opening Ceremonies! (lunch, dinner, WCG transportation included)
Thursday July 5: 9am – 5pm classes, 5-6pm WCG International Friendship concert (lunch included)
Friday July 6: 9am – 1pm classes, 1-2pm closing SongFest concert (lunch included)
*Saturday, July 14: All participants are asked to return for the World Choir Games closing ceremonies! We hope that all participants can add this additional date for this great experience. Indicate your availability on the online registration form.
Financial aid application deadline: June 8, 2012 (a form will be emailed to you if you indicate interest in financial aid on the online registration form.
Registration deadline: June 8, 2012
How: No audition is necessary; simply fill out the online registration form by June 8. You will be invoiced once your registration is received.
*At the end of camp, boys may audition for the year-round Boychoir program.
Costs: Tuition includes all materials and instruction for the camp, lunch at Xavier’s cafeteria, and participation in the World Choir Games Opening & Closing Ceremony Events on Tuesday & Wednesday nights of camp. Limited financial aid is available; the deadline to apply for aid is June 8.
Cost for 2011-2012 Training, Concert or Tour Choir Members: $265
Cost for all other boys: $295
