A variety of wonders awaits you in the 2012-2013 Cincinnati Boychoir concert season: from the rhythmic and reflective Peace & Perspective holiday program, to the staging of a Boychoir opera by Benjamin Britten, to a symphonic masterpiece of Gustav Mahler, this year we invite you to revel in the traditional and the new, the stark and the romantic, the peaceful and the evocative. We hope you will come experience the sounds of the 175 boys and men of the Cincinnati Boychoir in one of our unique and uplifting programs this season!

Cincinnati MANchoir Festival

Men young and old are invited to participate in this half-day man-only choral festival! Led by Cincinnati Boychoir Artistic Director Christopher Eanes and culminating with a free concert for friends and family, singers will have the opportunity to rehearse and perform great works for male choirs with dozens of other talented men! (Must be 14 years old to register.)

We will kick off the 100th anniversary celebration of Benjamin Britten’s birth with one of his great works, written specifically for boys’ voices. Saint Nicolas tells the story of the life of the miracle-working saint who was known for sneaking presents into children’s shoes. Britten sets the story in a captivating, fun, and imaginative score, perfect for the whole family!

Celebrate the music of the British Isles and of one of their greatest composers, Benjamin Britten, before the Tour Choir departs for London. As part of the program, the Tour Choir will present Britten’s opera written for the Vienna Boys’ Chorus, The Golden Vanity, a story of a pirate-takeover gone wrong! The opera will be staged in conjunction with UC’s College Conservatory of Music, directed by Omer Ben Seadia.
